UK Coffee Week is in full swing and Climpson’s is getting involved! Not only is it a chance for coffee lovers from all walks of life to get together, but to promote and raise funds for Project Waterfall.

What is Project Waterfall you ask? Project Waterfall is the central focus for fundraising during UK Coffee Week™, and aims to transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in African coffee-growing countries. 100% of all funds raised from consumer donations will directly benefit this cause. The first project is providing clean water to communities in the Mbulu District of Tanzania in partnership with WaterAid. More info at www.ukcoffeeweek.com

In support of this we have roasted our very own UK Coffee Week Feature Coffee – an Ethiopian Sidamo filter. We are going to be trialling this out on the V60 all this week at the Cafe (11am-2pm Mon-Fri) and on our Broadway Market Stall (10am – 4pm on Saturday) – for a donation as you see fit. Why not give it a try at home and purchase a 250g bag, ground to order for £6. All proceeds to Project Waterfall – a worthy investment!

We chose the Sidamo as it is one of our faves…. and because Ethiopia is the closest to Tanzania (after Kenya!). Tastes like Earl Grey Bergamot, delicate honeycomb sweetness and a balanced grape skin acidity.

Climpson & Sons Coffee Roasters will be closed over the May bank holiday period. This may affect your current standing order, therefore we will send out coffee a day or two earlier to account for this closure. Please note that roast dates may vary.

Friday 3rd dispatch will be sent on Thursday 2nd.
Monday the 6th dispatch will be sent the Friday before.

Hello friends,

We are presently installing a roaster and fitting out our new roastery premises, across London Fields at Helmsley Place.

We hope to be operating out of there in the next few weeks. For the moment, its business as usual at Unit 10.

Watch this space!

The roastery will be closed for the whole Easter break. We’ve moved our roasting schedule forward two days so we can ship standing orders earlier. Hopefully this won’t result in any disruptions for you.

The cafe will be trading from 930am until 4pm Friday and Monday.

We’ve created a new category in our coffee range, called Big Beans. We plan to continuosly offer one of the coffees from the farms that cultivate these interesting arabica subspecies. They look good, they taste great!

Unfortunately we have had to slightly increase the base price for our Decaf and Kenya (both Peaberry and Climpson Estate), due to rising market prices. This will be the only online retail price increase in 2012.
